Yoga, Music & Ayahuasca

July 17th - July 26th, 2020

A unique journey that will combine the teachings of Yoga, traditional Peruvian Medicine Work, breath work and voice lessons to open us to our next level of evolution and understanding. "Kunkawaki" means "harmonious sound" in the native language of Quechua of the Sacred Valley. We invite you to listen deeper and to connect with your truth in the heart of Peru.

July 17th - July 26, 2020

We will spend 10 days together supporting a healthy yoga lifestyle to facilitate healing, growth and transformation in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Our Retreat led by Ryan Sansing and Sahffi Lynne was designed to align you with the rhythms of nature. This secure environment in the heart of Peru will help you cleanse, renew, transform and awaken.

The Setting : The Sacred Valley

Tucked under the tawny skirts of formidable foothills, the beautiful Río Urubamba Valley, known as El Valle Sagrado (the Sacred Valley), is about 15km north of Cuzco as the condor flies, via a narrow road of hairpin turns. It's worth exploring this peaceful, fetching corner of the Andes with attractive colonial towns and isolated weaving villages. Star attractions are the markets and the lofty Inca citadels of Pisac and Ollantaytambo, but it's also packed with other Inca sites.

Accommodations : Nidra Wasi

Nidra Wasi is located at the feet of Apu Intihuatana, Pisac´s main archaeological site, in the Sacred Valley.  Surrounded by beautiful mountains and within a holistic yoga and medicine community. It is the perfect location for immersing yourself in nature, reconnecting and experiencing the Andean world.  Nidra Wasi's 26 rooms span across two buildings, offering accommodation at ground and 1st floors. You can find cosy common areas that include a living room, small dining area, fireplace and a kitchenette, along with complimentary drinking water and Wifi. Our houses are totally integrated in the environment built with traditional local materials: mud, wood and stones with minimal processing. It makes this architecture sustainable and organic.  You will feel the sensation of integration with the earth through the walls of the house.

Getting There

You can fly to Cuzco via Lima with LAN or Avianca airlines from most major US airports. Try kayak.com to find flights from your airport to Cuzco.  Alternatively, you can fly to Lima with any major international airline and take a local flight to Cuzco. There are departures every hour from Lima to Cuzco with LAN, Peruvian Air Line, Avianca, Star Peru and Hahn Air System.  From Cuzco, you can take a taxi to Pisac. Most drivers know the Nidra Wasi Center at Paz y Luz. If they don’t, once you get to Pisac you can simply get out at the village center and take a "tuk tuk" from there. The taxi ride from the airport to Pisac will be around 30-60 soles. The quickest and cheapest (and also most adventurous!) way to Pisac is to take a ‘colectivo’ from Puputi Street (3-4 soles). For this option, take a taxi from the airport to Puputi Street (taxi should only cost around 10 soles). Once in Pisac, take a "tuk tuk" to Nidra Wasi Center at Paz y Luz.

Daily Schedule

Every day we will start with a yoga and pranayama practice, focusing on one chakra daily. We'll also have fun with acroyoga, daily runs, and optional trips to the local sauna and town center. Throughout the week, we will experience plant medicine ceremonies together, take individual and group vocal lessons, write a song together in a songwriting workshop, take hikes to ancient ruins, beautiful lakes and epic mountains, and go shopping in town.

During the retreat, a detailed schedule will be shared daily via WhatsApp (a free international texting/talking app for your phone) to the retreat attendees. There will be scheduled time for rest and to explore Pisac's unique and colorful town center.

Please consider staying longer after the retreat is over as well, as there will be an amazing medicine music festival, El Festival de Musica Medicina. A one-day pass for the first day of the festival is included in the retreat! Sahffi & Ryan will be sharing music with their band OverGlow at the festival, another great reason to stay for the whole festival!

“ I went to Brazil May 2018 and the experience was amazing. Ari and Ryan took care of everything. Everyone was so open and kind. Food was incredible, and I'm not vegan; accomodations were just rustic enough to feel like an adventure, without actually having to forgo comforts. Swimming under a waterfall was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I got to experience a piece of the culture. My only critique was that I definitely recommend more Maracatu! ” Cayley, California, 2018

“ I went on the Terra Retreat to Brazil in May and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life so far. Ari did a fantastic job of curating the entire experience from the lodging, the hikes, plan{e}t medicine ceremonies and morning yoga, everything was perfect. Not to mention, the food was off the charts amazing(If you went just to eat you'd be happy you did). Throughout the retreat I was given space to expand into a more full expression of my truest self and that in of itself is absolutely priceless. Ari is dedicated to making sure that all of the participants' needs and desires are met and she is absolutely one of the most generous and loving souls I have ever been in contact with. If you feel even slightly called to it, I can say for sure that this is a space you can put your fullest trust into and upon returning home you will find you have gotten much more out of it than you ever could have put in. Take the leap! “ Jeffrey, Maryland, 2018

“ Ari really sets the bar high when it comes to yoga retreats. Truth be told it was actually allot more than just a “yoga retreat” Each day was jam packed with so much fun and adventure. Not to mention 3 nights of ayahuasca/ kambo ceremonies , needless to say our scheduled rest days were much appreciated. All in all my time in Brazil was something special I will cherish the rest of my life. Super grateful to have gotten to meet all the amazing people who participated in the retreat. By the end of the 10 days we had become like a little family which made an already awesome trip even better. To Ari, thanks again for everything! best of luck with your future Terra Retreats and I hope to participate in one again soon! “ Austin, Connecticut, 2018
